Use files in chat & workflows
Uploading a file is only step one — the real value comes from putting it to work. A file you've added to JobKred can be used in two places.
In a chat
Open the context panel on the right of a chat and, under Files, attach one or more documents to your next message. Ellie reads them as it answers — perfect for "extract the job profiles from this document" or "analyze this team's skills against their roles."
→ See Add context.
In a workflow
In a workflow, files become Knowledge. Attach them at the workflow level (available to every node) or to a single node (only that step uses it). This is how a scheduled workflow keeps working from the right source documents every time it runs.
→ See Add Knowledge.
Ellie can read and edit Excel and Word files
For Excel workbooks and Word documents, Ellie goes beyond reading — she can open the file up and change it for you.
- Excel — ask her to look inside a spreadsheet — "what's on the Salaries sheet?" — or to change it — "add a Total column and fill it in". She can update cells and formulas, and add, rename or remove rows, columns and sheets.
- Word — ask her what's in a document — "summarise the policy sections" — or to change it — "update the probation period to six months throughout". She can rewrite and replace text, and add, edit or remove paragraphs and table cells, keeping your formatting.
Every edit is saved as a new file in your Files, attached to the chat. The file you uploaded stays exactly as it was.
From a result back to a file
It works the other way too. When Ellie generates something in a chat, you can Save to File to store it as a document in your workspace — and then attach that to your next analysis or workflow. See Read, export & sync results.
Next step
Keep your files organized and share them → Manage & share files.
